About Me
Hi, I'm Romy.
Six years ago, my life looked very different.
I was working in a management role within a government organisation, doing work that I genuinely cared about. I loved the people I worked with and I loved being part of something that supported others.
But over time, I began to feel like something was missing.
I could see incredible people trying their best, yet I also saw how easily people could become overwhelmed, exhausted and unsupported. I wanted to help, but more and more I found myself feeling like I was working within a system that wasn’t always able to care for the people it was designed to serve—or the people working inside it.
Then life became heavier.
COVID arrived.
The pressures of work intensified.
At the same time, I was walking alongside two of the people I loved most as my mum and my dad were nearing the end of their lives.
Like many people, I kept going.
Until one day…
I couldn’t.
I sat down at my computer, looked at the screen, and realised I couldn’t even bring myself to log in.
It wasn’t because I didn’t care.
It was because I had nothing left to give.
The question that changed everything
That moment became one of the greatest gifts of my life.
Not because it was easy…
But because it forced me to ask a question I had been avoiding for a long time.
“Is this really how I want to live?”
I didn’t know what came next.
I just knew that if I wanted my life to change, I had to do something different.
So I gave myself permission to explore.
Finding my way back through creativity
As I searched for a way forward, I found myself returning to something I had loved as a child.
Art had always been part of my life.
But somewhere along the way, I had convinced myself that art belonged to people with talent, qualifications or formal training—not people like me.
When I eventually picked up a paintbrush again, I wasn’t trying to become an artist.
I was trying to find myself.
What surprised me most wasn’t the artwork I created.
It was what happened while I was creating it.
For the first time in a long time, my mind became quiet.
I found space to breathe.
To reflect.
To process.
To simply be.
That’s when I realised something profound.
Art wasn’t healing me because I was making beautiful paintings.
It was helping me because it gave me permission to slow down and reconnect with myself.
A new path
I later completed a Diploma of Holistic Creative Art Therapy—not because I wanted to become a professional artist, but because I wanted to understand why creativity had such a powerful impact on my own wellbeing.
The more I learned, the more convinced I became that everyone deserved to experience this.
Not because everyone needs to become an artist.
But because everyone deserves a space where they can feel safe enough to reconnect with themselves.
That belief became The Art of Loving Kindness.
The leap of faith
Leaving the security of a 9-to-5 job to create something from my heart was the biggest leap of faith I’ve ever taken.
To be honest, I had no idea what I was doing.
But I trusted one thing.
If nothing changed… nothing would change.
Today
Today, The Art of Loving Kindness has grown far beyond what I ever imagined.
Yes, we use creativity.
But we are not really about making art.
We are about creating experiences that help people reconnect with themselves, with others and with what matters most.
Whether that happens through intuitive art, women’s circles, retreats, sound healing or simply sharing a conversation over a cup of tea, my hope is always the same.
That you leave feeling lighter than when you arrived.
Because sometimes the greatest masterpiece we create…
Is the life we choose to live.
Whether we meet through a workshop, retreat, private session or simply over a cup of tea, I hope you’ll find a space where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself and leave feeling just a little lighter than when you arrived.
I look forward to welcoming you.

What People Are Saying
“My art sessions with Rom have always been a fun, creative and spiritual experience. Her passion for her craft is infectious and i just feel so free and comfortable to express myself through any medium of art that Rom prepares, be it watercolour, acrylic or resin. You just take what you are feeling in that moment and use colour to express it, no judgement, just loving kindness. With each session i have noticed patterns in my pieces of work that i use as a journal to reflect on my emotions and feelings as part of my personal wellbeing routine. Romy is such a beautiful soul and her presence is so calming.”
— Kelly S., Newcastle
“What a wonderful experience! Romy creates a safe and loving environment where I was able to express myself in creative ways I didn’t even know I could. I tapped into some old patterns that no longer serve me and now have the tools to live a more creative and authentic life. I would highly recommend others to experience the transformation themselves.”
— Jo B, Central Coast
“We want to come back with our friends!”
— Ruby & Anja., Newcastle
“I haven’t tried anything artistic since school, this was a great re-introduction and such a calming experience”
— John K., Muswellbrook
“My mum booked a session with the art of loving kindness and it was a terrific experience! I’m not that confident at art, and Romy really brought me out of my shell with her kind words and patience. We did candle making which was great for bonding with mum and I loved decorating the candles! That was something I’d never done before. It was an amazing time and I really recommend it! 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
— Bella., Newcastle
“Thank you Romy! I loved every second and so happy how it turned out. Wouldn’t have got there without your guidance and expertise. The readings were an extra bonus and you always leave me feeling wiser and inspired! I just love being around your energy”
— Katie., Newcastle
“My tween daughter and I recently attended a mother/daughter session at the art of Loving kindness. I was a little apprehensive as I had never done anything like this before, but I needn’t have been. Romy made us feel welcome from the minute we got out of the car. We had such a wonderful time together bonding over candle making, card reading (which actually made me emotional as it hit close to home and was very accurate) and art. Not being an artist of any kind, I was suitably impressed with Romy’s ability to encourage me and my daughter to create something beautiful which is hanging on the wall in our home. Five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
